Lucknow: Having kicked off his party’s election campaign in Uttar Pradesh last week, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi is returning to the state to undertake a five-day tour of some central and eastern districts from Tuesday, party leaders said Sunday.
Described as “Jan Sampark Abhiyan” (mass contact programme), the exercise would commence from Barabanki and culminate at Kushinagar on Nov 26.
According to state Congress president Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Gandhi is expected to meet party workers as also interact with common people in Barabanki, Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Siddarth Nagar, Maharajganj and Kushinagar districts.
Earlier this month, Gandhi had undertaken a two day tour of Jaunpur, Bhadohi and Varanasi districts in eastern Uttar Pradesh, where he also held “chaupals” (open house meetings) at certain places.
