One held in Odisha gang-rape case

Bhubaneswar : A man was arrested in Odisha’s Sundergarh district Friday for the gang-rape of a minor girl in the region, police said.

According to police, the 17-year-old girl was kidnapped and gang-raped by three men near Chandiposh village, about 450 km from here, when she was returning home from work Thursday evening.

Efforts are on to nab her other two attackers, a district police official told IANS.

This was the second incident of gang-rape in Sundergarh district this week.

A tribal woman was earlier gang-raped in Kutra area by five men when she was returning home after celebrating Christmas in a village late Tuesday.

All the culprits were arrested a day after the crime.
