Yangon : An economic adviser to Myanmar President Thein Sein has said it is not the lack of resources but “flawed policies that have been our undoing”.
U Myint was speaking at a workshop to discuss the challenges and goals for the government in the near future. It was organised by the economic development ministry and the Japan International Cooperation Agency this week.
U said it is important to acknowledge that “for over half a century since we gained independence, it has not been lack of resources, but rather misconceived ideas and flawed policies that have been our undoing”.
First thing that is required is “a frank and objective assessment of where we are at present”, the mizzima.com Saturday quoted U as saying.
