Aligarh: The Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Zameer Uddin Shah today inaugurated a three-day International Conference on ‘Differential Geometry and Relativity’ organized by the Department of Mathematics.
General Shah hoped that this conference would create re-awakening in Mathematics and wished that the deliberations of the conference would enhance the knowledge of Mathematics among young generation.
Release of Journal of Tensor Society at the Department of Mathematics
General Shah said that the Jewish and Vaish communities are master in mathematics because of life of risk. Many money launderers belong to Vaish community in India. He said that Jewish community is the largest Nobel Prize winners.
AMU Vice Chancellor released a special commemorative issue of the Journal of ‘The Tensor Society’ dedicated to (Late) Professor S. Izhar Husain to the world of geometers and relativists around the globe. Prof. Husain was an elected fellow of National Academy of Science since 1967 and served the AMU till his death in 1994.
Prof. Zafar Ahsan, Chairman, Department of Mathematics at AMU said that the purpose of the conference is to contribute to the development of different geometry and relativity aspects and their applications, to exchange new ideas, to discuss challenging issues, to foster future collaborations and to provide exposure to young researchers.
He said that this is the first conference of its kind where the geometers and relativists are assembled at one place to open a new door to the geometers and relativists working in India for future research collaboration in their respective fields.
Pooja Agrawal, Pro-Chancellor, Ram Swaroop Memorial University, Prof. Krishna S. Amur also addressed the inaugural function.
