The police told Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate D.K. Jangala that no action was called for on the part of the police in a complaint against Kanwal Karan Singh.

The police later said they would follow the court’s order on the issue.

They told the court that they had sought a report from the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on the encroachment.

The court was hearing a case against the Model Town legislator filed by Right to Information (RTI) activist and advocate Vivek Garg.

“According to DDA, no government land has been encroached upon by Kanwal Karan Singh as the measurement match the record available in the file,” police said in its reply.

Garg, citing various documents accessed through RTI, had alleged that Kanwal Karan Singh had caused losses worth crores of rupees to the government exchequer.
