Humid Saturday for Delhi, rains likely Sunday

New Delhi: It was a cloudy and humid day in the capital Saturday with the maximum temperature settling at 34 degrees Celsius, average for the season. The Met Office has forecast rains Sunday.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the skies will again be cloudy Sunday and parts of the city may get rains.

“The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 34 and 26 degrees Celsius,” said the IMD.

Saturdays’ minimum temperature was 24.8 degrees, again average for the season, while the humidity levels wavered between a high of 97 and a low of 74 percent.

A total of 507.3 mm of rain has been recorded in Delhi since the outbreak of monsoon in June-end. The rain deficit so far is 16 percent with the monsoon expected to last in the city till Sep 20.

Fridays’ maximum temperature was a notch below average at 32.6 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was two notches above average at 27.3 degrees Celsius.
