Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Gautam Manan granted interim bail for two days to OC deputy director-general (protocol and media relations) Nachiketa Kapur, arrested on charges of using a forged degree to get the job.

“Keeping in view of the fact that the father of the accused expired on Sep 7, accused is admitted on interim bail on furnishing of personal bond and surety bond on the sum of Rs.50,000 for two days till Sep 20 so to enable him to attend the ‘Tehravi’ of his father and to perform the rites,” said the judge.

Kapur was arrested this week after he surrendered to court.

Police had booked him for forgery, cheating and criminal conspiracy for allegedly using a forged BA certificate of Delhi University to bag the job.
