Bangalore : Ryder Cup star Peter Hanson of Sweden and Richie Ramsay of Scotland will lead the field for the 49th edition of the Hero Indian Open golf which ventures into southern India for the first time.
The US $1.25 million event will also feature England’s James Morrison, who is another European Tour winner, along with many of Asia’s leading golfers from Oct 18-21.
Indian golfers participating at the Asian Tour event will be Anirban Lahiri, Gaganjeet Bhullar and Shiv Kapur among others.
Lahiri made the cut and registered a hole-in-one at the British Open while Bhullar secured his third Asian Tour title in Taipei Monday after finishing second in Malaysia two weeks’ ago.
The event, inaugurated in 1964, was previously held in New Delhi and Calcutta.
