Aligarh: Nazir Hussain, Research Scholar in Department of English of Aligarh Muslim University has been selected as the Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant at the University of Texas, Austin, US for a period of nine months beginning August 2013.
Hussain has been pursuing his doctoral work on the teaching and syllabus of English in Madarsas under
the supervision of Professor Abdur Raheem Kidwai at the Department of English.
Fulbright Commission, New Delhi each year selects research scholars for this prestigious programme that helps students in academic achievements and cross-cultural understanding between India and the US. Over the years, many research scholars from the Department of English have visited US under this programme. Dr. T. R. Gautam, and Dr. Taj Mohammad, former beneficiaries of the programme provide guidance to the fresh students for selection in the programme.
