Islamabad: A likely terror bid was averted here Saturday with the arrest of two suspected militants and seizure of huge quantity of arms.
The arrest could be possible when police in Pakistan’s capital city raided a house following a tip-off by local residents, Xinhua reported.
Officials said the police seized 20 Kalashnikovs, four pistols, remote-controlled spying instruments, a hand-grenade, a wireless set and a huge quantity of explosives and detonators from the house located at the less populated outskirts of the capital.
Also, four remote-controlled fiber planes used for the purpose of spying were also seized in the raid.
Bomb disposal squad was also called in to defuse the explosive materials recovered in the raid.
On Aug 31, police seized an explosives-laden vehicle from Bara Kahu area of the city.
