Ajmer: Dewan Syed Zainul Abedin Ali Khan, successor and Sajjadanashin (Custodian) the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishty has written to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister on the Muzaffarnagar riots, expressing his concern.
“It is a matter of serious concern for every responsible and peace-loving of the country that the Samajwadi Government has lately been passing through the phase of highly critical and testing time, at the current juncture,” adding, “I appreciate your concerns with regard to the deteriorating law and order situation in the state particularly the part of western UP which has been a witness to a mournful colossal loss of most precious human lives.”
He emphasised that the “losses so having been suffered essentially deserve not to be viewed in the context of caste, creed or religion.”
He also assured all his “cooperation and assistance,” adding that if need be, he would make himself available to the “cause of humanity and mutual brotherhood by personally visiting areas effected by the recent unfortunate violence which has served no end.”
In a separate message, appealing for peace and harmony, Dewan Syed Zainul Abedin Ali Khan said, “My heart is bleeding on account of happenings in Muzaffarnagar which was the well calculated move of the miscreants and anti-social elements.”
He called upon all the responsible citizens of the country to “stop mud-slinging and instead focus their energies to bail the nation out of this curse.”
