Badal, while interacting with media in Khadoor Sahib town of Tarn Taran district, 270 km from here, said that he was “very much peeved” by the recent outburst by the Amritsar Lok Sabha MP.

Former cricketer Sidhu has been the BJP MP from Amritsar since 2004.

Badal said that Sidhu used to shower praises on the alliance government after his election as MP.

“The outburst by the MP was a wrong decision and even his parent party, the BJP, has failed to understand that what has happened to Mr. Sidhu all of a sudden,” Badal said.

However, Badal said that Sidhu’s outbursts would not at all affect the prospects of Akali Dal-BJP alliance in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls.

Sidhu, who remained absent from his constituency for nearly eight months, returned to Amritsar last week. He lashed out at the Badal government for not doing enough for the development of Amritsar despite it being a Sikh holy city.
