AIIMS gets new chief vigilance officer

New Delhi : Viswas Mehata, a 1986 batch IAS officer of the Kerala cadre, has been appointed the new chief vigilance officer (CVO) of AIIMS for three months.

Mehata, who is also the joint secretary in the union health ministry, has been given the additional charge, days after AIIMS CVO Sanjeev Chaturvedi was removed from the post before the completion of his tenure.

“With the approval of health minister, it has been decided to assign the charge of CVO, AIIMS, New Delhi to joint secretary and CVO, ministry of health and family welfare for a period of three months with immediate effect,” said a health ministry statement.

Chaturvedi, a Haryana cadre forest service officer of the 2002 batch, was earlier appointed CVO till June 2016.
