New Delhi: The Congress Tuesday said it is disappointed with its showing in Jharkhand but the results in Jammu and Kashmir are better than predicted by opinion polls.
Party spokesperson Ajoy Kumar also said they were “open” to supporting the Peoples Democratic Party in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The results in Jammu and Kashmir are better than what the opinion polls said. But we are disappointed with Jharkhand,” he said.
“It is time to go to the grass root level and rebuild our support base in Jharkhand,” he said.
He admitted Congress failed in forming an alliance of the non-Bharatiya Janata Party parties.
“We failed in bringing the non-BJP parties together,” he said.
Asked about a possible tie up with PDP which emerged as the largest party in Jammu and Kashmir, Kumar said: “If PDP asks for support, we are open to it.”
