Dhaka : Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said Monday that her country will overcome the crisis caused by the violent nationwide transport blockade enforced by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)-led opposition alliance.
She termed the blockade as a “manmade crisis”, while speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration of an expo on information technology at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka Monday.
“We have been going through that manmade calamity for the past one month. God willing, we will be able to overcome this crisis,” she said.
“Just as Bangladesh combats natural calamities because of its geographical position, it battles manmade crises too.”
Stating that she would not “say bad things about someone and talk about someone” Hasina said that people would “resist those who did not see the country’s development and wanted to throw the country into darkness”.
“Burning people alive can’t be any movement. It’s unbelievable that any human being can do something this inhuman. They are enemies of the country and humanity,” she said.
