Seventh Seminar on Sir Syed during Aligarh’s annual exhibition

Aligarh: Sir Syed Awareness Forum (SAF) organised the seventh annual seminar on “Sir Syed Ahmad Khan: Life & Mission” in Muktakash of the Aligarh Annual Exhibition on February 12.

Speaking at the seminar, Brig. Surjit Pabla, Vice Chancellor, Manglayatan University, Aligarh said that culturally and historically India has been home of many religions and people of all faiths can be found here. He added that Constitution has granted right of freedom of speech which is an essential part of any democracy but presently some organisations and people are misusing them.

Presenting her paper, young Ayesha Samdani said that Sir Syed was the first to use the term ‘scientific temper’ which later became a pillar of our constitution. He was a large hearted person and his religious views were down to earth rational.

Other renowned speakers includedsenior Orthopaedic Professor MKA Sherwani of JNMC; Dr CL Sonkar, Additional City Magistrate; Cdr. Manjeet Singh, Registrar, Manglayatan University; Famous Dental Surgeon, Professor Saeed Ahmad. Speakers reiterated the achievements of Sir Syed and the role of MAO College in education.

Director of the seminar and President, Sir Syed Awareness Forum Professor Shakeel Samdani said that for good governance, justice is the key word and the government should empower all sections of society equally. He suggested that the central government should establish a chair in Sir Syed’s name in every university and one chapter relating to Sir Syed Ahmad Khan should be the part of curriculum.

Professor S Saeed Ahmad of JNMC , Professor MKA Sherwani of JNMC, Dr Pritipal Singh, Er. Fasahat Ali and N Jamal Ansari were felicitated in recognition of their contributions and services in respective fields.
