Malappuram: Mr Ooman Chandi, chief minister of Kerala said today here that some forces are destroying the composite culture of India by targeting democracy and secularism. We need to be alert and not allow them to succeed in their designs.
On the 60th foundation day of Samastha Kerala Sunni Yuvajana Sangam (SYS) , an organization of Sunni youths of Kerala which is a driving force behind the academic and developmental work of the Sufi Muslims, the chief minister said there is regular untiring attempt to tarnish the image of Muslims all over India . They are carrying on a negative propaganda and the situation demands that clerics and Mashaikh shall all come forward to promote peace and tolerance, co-existence and togetherness. Mr Ooman Chandi stressed upon education of Muslims and appealed them to be more organized and alert against any evil and ensure that peace and tranquility remains the main identity of a civilized nation.
India has got great cultural heritage. Our tradition is rooted in religious tolerance and broadmindedness. Though our cultural heritage has been praised and appreciated by all, what happens presently is to weaken it. As this tends to produce far-reaching bad effects, it should be opposed by all. The voice rising against communalism should not be based on communalism itself. This is the strength of religious harmony. The strong stance is necessary to oppose this narrow-mindedness. He emphasized that it is high time took pledge to retrieve our tradition and the heritage.
“I am directly convinced of organizing power, discipline and party strength of SYS. The attraction of SYS is their discipline. Though there is a huge gathering, the work with discipline is model for others.” Oommen Chandy added.
General Secretary of the All India Sunni Jamiate Ulama and Jamia Markaz Al Saqafat e Sunnia Ustad Abu Bakar expressed his concern over spread of use of drugs and said it is very important to save the younger generation from this addiction . Musliar Shaikh Abu Bakar further said that it is the duty of the clerics to come forward against drugs and drinks.
Addressing a large gathering here on this occasion Hazrat Maulana Syed Mohammad Ashraf Kichchawchchvi president and founder of All India Ulama &Mashaikh Board said no community can develop without education, so we must prioritize establishing quality centers of modern education. He said that the whole world is indulging in unethical practices and to stop the world from these practices Muslims will have to come forward.
Hazrat Maulana Syed Mohammad Ashraf kichchawchchvi said that organizational strength is always important in activities like this and south, especially Kerala needs to be followed in this field.
He lauded the work done by Musliar Shaikh Abu Bakar the head of the educational and social Sunni Suf movements in south India. Syed Mohammad Ashraf Kichchawchchvi said this must serve as a model for the whole India so that every Muslim boy is literate and organized, dedicated and disciplined to serve the community and country. He further assured that Maulana Shaikh Abu Bakar will get full support and cooperation from AIUMB in North India.
Sayyid Muhammed Ashraf Kichchawchchvi was the chief guest in the conference which was presided over by Sayyid Umarul Farooq Al bhukhari Posott. Sayyid Ahmad Husain Shihab, Aboobakar Musliyar Veembanad, Abdu Musliyar Thanaloor, Abbas Musliyar Manhanadi, Hameed Musliyar chalad, MM Haneefa Moulav i, OK Abdullakkutty Makhdoomi, PC Ibraheem Master, Shafi Saadi Karnataka, Muhammed Ali Haji; Star of Asia, Ali Dharimi have attended the programme.
