Bangalore : Ricky Ponting led from the front with a strokeful 94 to guide Australia to 166 for 2 at tea on day one of the first cricket Test at the Chinnaswamy Stadium here Thursday.
Ponting (94 batting) and Simon Katich (66) shared a 166-run partnership. The only wicket to fall in the session was of Katich who was caught behind off Ishant Sharma (1-42). Michael Hussey is yet to open his account.
