Sarajevo : The Serb government’s Minister for Kosovo Oliver Ivanovic denied Saturday that the EU had placed the acknowledgement of Kosovo’s independence as a condition for granting Serbia membership in the union.
In a telephone statement to KUNA, he said that such a condition was not brought up during meetings between European and Serb officials, but he did not rule out the possibility that such a condition would be imposed by some EU members.
He did say that his country was under pressure by the EU to comply with membership requirements, especially in relation to handing over war criminals.
