Islamabad : Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Friday said Pakistan values its close and multifaceted relations with the United Arab Emirates, which are rooted in common faith, shared heritage, values and culture.
He said Pakistan is keen to expanding cooperation with UAE in all fields especially economic, commercial, investments, manpower, energy and defence sectors.
The Prime Minister was talking to Ali Saif Sultan Al-Awani, new Ambassador of UAE in Pakistan, who paid a courtesy call on him here at the PM House this evening.
Prime Minister Gilani said Pakistan appreciates the role played by UAE in upporting ‘Friends of Democratic Pakistan’ group. He hoped that with the unwavering support of UAE government the group in Abu Dhabi on November 17 will be able to achieve its goals.
The Prime Minster also hoped that the forthcoming state visit of UAE by the President of Pakistan would pave new ways for cooperation between the two countries in multifaceted fields.
The UAE Ambassador also invited the Prime Minster on an official visit to UAE.
The Prime Minster accepted the invitation and stated that the time-frame of the visit will be decided through mutual consultation.
He assured the Ambassador of complete cooperation of his government in carrying out his diplomatic duties.
