Iran, Lebanon in Good Relations

Tehran : The Iranian Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei highlighted the good level of relations with Lebanon and considered unity between political and ethnic groups a key in this country to consolidate their prosperity.

During the comment about the two-day visit to that Persian nation by president Michel Suleiman Khamenei said that all Lebanese groups’ power must be at the service of national unity to face the danger of the Zionist regime.

He emphasized the Iranian revolution appreciated Suleiman’ position to back the Islamic Resistance and their efforts to preserve unity and national identity of the army as part of the peace process undertaken since last May with Doha Pact.

Talks between factions taking place in Lebanon nowadays, led by the president, are positive since the country’s prosperity will depend on their own unity, he stressed.

Khamenei recalled the support of Islamic and Arab states to Hizbulah group (God’s Party) during the 33 day-war against Israel in the summer of 2006 and pledged to make the reconciling process take into account the Shiite movement’s contribution.
