Deoband: General Secretary of Samajwadi Party Amar Singh yesterday addressed the students of Darul Uloom Deoband (DUD-Wakf) and tried to clear doubts over the inclusion of Kalyan Singh into the party folds.
Curiously enough none of the senior officials of the either Darul Uloom Deoband (DUD) or Darul Uloom Deoband (DUD-Wakf) came to receive him respectively at the two seminaries. However, only the Vice Rector (Naib Mohtamim) and faculty members of DUD-Wakf attended Mr. Amar Singh and his delegation. Addressing the students Amar Singh claimed that Kalyan Singh is the culprit in the Babari Mosque demolition case. “We are neither overlooking this fact nor are trying to defend him. In fact he has not been inducted formally into the party folds. Rather we are working on the adage ‘enemy’s enemy is friend’. Mr. Kalyan Singh has unleashed a war against his former party and we are just providing platform for this” clarified Mr. Amar Singh.
In his long drawn speech Mr. Amar Singh praised DUD and Nadva for their secular character. “We want to keep the BJP out of power hence we can join hands even with the staunchest enemy and since Kalyan Singh is helping us out in this endeavor, therefore, Mulaym Singh has joined hands with him after giving much thought to it”.
In a bid to gain more sympathy Mr. Amar Singh added, “We are doing all of this for you (Muslims) because we are well aware that your biggest enemy is Lal Krishan Advani”. He expressed his utter surprise over the fact that although he was the first person to protest against the Batla House Encounter and he was the first person to visit that place and demanded for a judicial enquiry but still the Jamia Nagar residents voted for the Congress candidate. “I fear your sentiments. Your blind support can make or break any government. Our party owes its existence due to you only. Without you it is incomplete.
