Islamabad : At least nine workers were killed and 20 others injured Thursday when a blast occurred in a mine in southwestern Pakistan, media reports said.
The incident took place in the Sorenge area, some 20 km east of the Balochistan province capital of Quetta, the private Dawn News TV channel reported.
The chief inspector of mines in Balochistan, while confirming the incident, said emergency officials have rushed to the site to conduct rescue operation.
