A large number of people belonging to the minority community said that the name of the RJD MP Shahabuddin was deleted because of a political conspiracy to prevent him from casting his vote.

The family members of Mohammad Shahabuddin have consulted legal experts on the issue and moved the Patna High Court to seek justice on the issue. His application is expected to be heard on 16th March in the High Court.

On the other hand, supporters of the MP, who is in jail under several criminal charges including murder, are planning to make it an election issue in the campaigns. While officials claimed that the deletion of MP’s name was done as per rules of election commission.

Meanwhile local RJD leaders have made up their mind that in case Shahabuddin fails to get permission from the court to contest LS election they will request him to allow his wife Heena Shahab to contest the election from his seat. They have conveyed their wish to the party high command.
