Jammu: One Hizbul Mujahideen militant laid down his arms before the army in Thatri area of mountainous Doda district, official sources said.
Defence spokesman Col Goswami told News Agency of Kashmir that the militant, identified as Mukhtiyar Ahmed, surrendered before the troops of 26 RR at Thatri, this morning.
He also handed over 1 AK with 2 magazines to the security forces at the time of surrender, Goswami said adding, the militant was active in the area since 2000.
