New Delhi: A three-day Human Resource Development (HRD) camp to groom students in making them experts in different fields concluded here on 22 November 2009.
The camp was a part of HRD project which was launched in 2005 with a view to develop experts in various important fields including Media, Islamic thoughts and experiments, Dawah, Education, Politics, Developmental issues and themes, Social activism and Economics.
The camp which was held from 20 to 22 November 2009 focused exhaustively on activities that would help enhancing their skills and talents aiming to nurture and groom talents of budding experts. It included lectures, interactions, presentations and case studies on HRD strata.
In his lecture on Islamic Economics as an alternative, Dr Waqar Anwar, chief adviser finance affairs of Jama’t-e-Islami Hind (JIH), opined that there is nothing as Islamic Economics. To drive home the point he said, that Islam has presented principles for different walks of life and one of the set of principles are for economics as well. Therefore, in reality it is subject Economics in Islam and not Islamic Economics.
He also explained Islamic and modern principles of economics. He said that today Islamic finance and banking has been widely discussed which has pushed Islamic Economics in anonymity. ”Islamic finance is the biggest hurdle in widespread of Islamic economics” he observed.
Delivering a lecture on education Dr Rafat, president of Haryana and Delhi units of JIH, highlighted the principles and philosophy of education in Islam. He said the aim of education in Islam is to make a human being who understands his Creator, follow His commandments and understands his duties and discharges them responsibly.
Mujataba Farooque, secretary political affairs of JIH, spoke on democratic system and politics of the country. He also discussed the future political strategy of JIH.
On the second day delegates of various strata were given under their mentors. Practical assignments were conducted in this session and finally, mentors assessed and assigned further work to delegates. Br M Sajid, former secretary SIO of India, delivered a lecture on colonial models of development and how they have damaged society and urged to get prepared to prevent imperialism from further ruining our lives.
Under cultural program, video and film were screened while on the final day, delegates were assigned future assignments and strategy for further grooming was devised. Top leaders of JIH interacted with the participants. They leaders expressed their views regarding Islamic movements, its strategies and future. They also shared their experiences and expressed their expectations associated with SIO and especially the HRD delegates.
