No improvement in dengue in Jamia Nagar, MCD still inactive

By TCN news,

New Delhi: There has not been any improvement as far as dengue cases in Jamia Nagar are concerned. All the hospitals and private nursing homes in and around the Muslim dominated area are reportedly ‘full’. On top of that, the continued passivity of
the government of Delhi has led to anger and anguish among the residents of the area.

Reportedly MCD has not come into action yet. Jamia Nagar residents have complained about complete absence of spraying of insecticides in the mosquito-breeding place.

Criticizing the government, Asif Mohammad Khan, MLA from Jamia Nagar pointed out that “Government of Delhi has completely failed to tackle dengue menace. It is again complicated by the negligence of Jamia Nagar by both the government and the MCD.”

Talking to TwoCircles.net, he said that he has been trying to push the civic agency to increase its cleaning activity in the area but to no avail.

Another spell of unrelenting rain has made matter all the worst with water accumulation in every vacant available space, making them potential breeding ground for mosquitoes. There hasn’t been intense spraying into the infamous drain located in the middle of Jamia Nagar. A visit of the area will easily show that still debris and silt strewn all around, along with the accumulation of rain water making the nullah a deadly source of dengue
mosquitoes.

In the middle of this inaction by the civic management, government of Delhi has given a full page advertisement in the Roznama Rashtriya Sahara, an Urdu daily claiming that Delhi is completely prepared to deal with dengue.

On the other hand it seems that dengue has spread its wings to other parts of Delhi as well. MCD has reported 36 new cases of the disease during last 24 hours. In total 384 dengue cases have been registered till now.
