New Delhi : The United States should look Indian IT companies not as a problem but as part of the solution as these provide jobs to the local people and add to the country’s development, Minister of State for IT Sachin Pilot said Thursday.
“The Indian IT companies are not a problem. They are part of the solution. They are adding value. They are creating jobs for the local people whether in the US or Europe,” said Pilot on the eve of President Barack Obama’s visit to India.
In the just concluded mid-term US Congressional elections, the rhetoric against outsourcing had reached a crescendo, with President Obama saying his administration was determined to end tax breaks for American firms that sent jobs abroad.
On being asked if the ministry would raise the issue with US authorities, Pilot said: “The issues of visa fee and outsourcing have already been taken up at the highest level by both the countries.”
Pilot also said the Indian IT companies are strong enough meet any challenge.
