Madrid : Home sales fell 17.7 percent year-on-year to 27,198 units in Spain in October, hitting the lowest level since January 2007, authorities said.
The October figures indicate that the downward trend in sales that started in September, ending eight months of rising sales, has not changed, said the National Statistics Institute, or INE.
Of the 27,198 housing units sold in October, 13,400, or some 49.4 percent, were new and 13,798, or 50.7 percent, were existing homes.
