The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party’s youth wing took out torchlight processions in Bangalore and several places in the state late Friday backing Hazare’s efforts.

Rallies continued for the fourth day Friday in the tech hub and in 29 other districts in the state.

Freedom fighters, students, women and representatives of various organizations braved chilly winds and frequent drizzle and held a meeting at Freedom Park in Bangalore city centre calling for strong measures to check graft.

Former Lokayukta N. Santosh Hegde participated in the meeting, like he has been doing for the last three days.

In Haveri in north Karntaka, abut 340 km from Bangalore, Hindu religious leaders and former soldiers staged a ‘dharna’ (sit-in) supporting Jan Lokpal bill proposed by Anna Hazare and his team.
