The apex court bench headed by Justice Balveer Bhandari issued notice saying that some important questions of law have been raised and needed to be addressed.

The state government has moved the Supreme Court challenging the judgment of the Goa bench of Bombay High Court which held that the governor is a public authority, and consequently came under the ambit of the Right to Information (RTI) Act.

Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Manohar Parrikar had moved the state information commission seeking copies of the report sent by the governor to the president between July 24 and Aug 14, 2007.
