Kolkata: Popular Front of India [PFI] West Bengal State committee organised its State Assembly Session at Invite Hall, under the Islampur Police Station of Murshidabad district to mark the succesful completion of its one year activities in the state. The programme was organised from 18-19 February and the PFI state, national leaders were present for the function. PFI All India General Secretary K M Sharif, Delhi Zone incharge Md Kalimullah, PFI West Bengal Organiser Y Mainuddin were present for the session.

Taking in to consideration the Present West Bengal situation, the PFI general assembly have accepted the following proposals:
1. It was noted that even after 65 years of independence the Dalits, Santals and Muslims were deprived of their rights in Political and educational fields. Health, drinking water and transportation systems too were found to be patheitc in areas inhabited by those sections, so the general assembly demanded immediate changes on this regard.
2. PFI sought appropraite actions from the part of governing and opposition bodies to prevent corruption.
3. Taking in to consideration, the Sachar and Ranganath Mishra Commission report; PFI proposal Demanded immediate implementation of reservation for Muslims in education and government jobs.
4. It asked the Union Govt to cancel its relationship with Israel.
5. The Government was asked to stop its propagandas against PFI by making use of certain Media fractions.
6. It asked the Government to increase educational quality in West Bengal.
