Tatiana Butyaeva, 24, an architect who earlier worked with a multi-national company based in Gurgaon, was assaulted by Vivek Ahlawat, son of Chandervir Singh, in Mehrauli.

On her complaint, Delhi Police registered a first information report (FIR) against Vivek for house trespass for assault and under some provisions of the Arms Act.

“After lodging the FIR against Vivek, I am getting SMS and phone calls of dire consequences. The matter would be presented in Russian embassy Sunday,” Butyaeva told IANS.

She said that she gave another application to Delhi Police Friday urging them to book him under stricter penal provisions dealing with assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty and assault to commit theft or robbery.

The victim alleged that the police were not taking strong action against the accused as he was from an influential political family.

The Russian’s counsel Gagan Chhabra said: “It seems that the Delhi Police is working under some influence. Only the house trespass section is there in the FIR.”

“The accused was carrying a loaded weapon with him. He badly thrashed the victim and took away her passport, credit cards and mobile phone,” he said.

In the FIR, the victim has been shown as an Indian national instead of Russian, Chhabra alleged.

Butyaeva told IANS: “I had came to India in January 2011 for an internship in architecture for one year. I came in touch with Vivek in April 2011. After completing my internship, I went back to Russia.”

“On Feb 29, around 4 a.m. I returned to Delhi. As Vivek was aware of my arrival, he offered me a lift from the airport but I refused it. After that he came to my rented house in Mehrauli and assaulted me badly. By taking away my passport, credit cards he wanted to make me captive for a long time,” she said.
