New Delhi: Several social organizations on Saturday holding first Mewati Women Convention where women from villages, towns, illiterate, educated, farmers will speak. The program (10 am to 1 pm) is being organized at Mewat Development Authority premises at Nuh by several groups including ANHAD, Mewat Vikas Sabha and Pehchan.
Mewat is an educationally and socially one of the most backward regions with women literacy ranging between 10-15% in most villages. Mewat has 503 villages. ANHAD started working two years ago in a few villages running women empowerment centres. The convention will be demonstration of the successful experiment.
Guest Speakers are Kumari Shelja, Cabinet Minister, Shweta Bhatt, wife of IPS Sanjeev Bhatt and Nuzhat Hassan, IPS officer.
