AMU suspends 2 students for Sir Ziauddin Hall violence

Aligarh: Two students of the Aligarh Muslim University have been suspended from the rolls of the University with immediate effect pending final decision of the case. Further, the University and its maintained institutions have been placed out of bounds for them.

AMU Proctor, Dr. Khursheed A. Khan issued an office memo stating that M. Aaghaz, BSc (II) and Shoiab Ahamed, B. Sc. (III) physically assaulted Hamza Raza Khan on December 21 in the Sir Ziauddin Hall, who was hospitalized in JN Medical College for medical aid.

The Proctor said that the Provost of Sir Ziauddin Hall conducted an enquiry into the matter and the enquiry committee unanimously decided that aforementioned students violated rules of AMU regarding conduct and discipline and are hence suspended.

They have also been asked to vacate their hostel rooms.
