New Delhi : A cattle thief involved in a shootout with police in Pitampura here was arrested from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh, police said Monday.
The 25-year-old cattle thief had fled after a shootout with Delhi Police Jan 19, a police officer said. One of his associates was killed and four others arrested.
“Tasleem was arrested from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh Sunday,” a police officer told IANS.
“He was driving the mini-truck in which the criminals were travelling when the shootout started. Tasleem is from Ghaziabad, bordering Delhi,” he said.
They were fleeing after stealing cattle from the area. The shootout had continued for 25 minutes and 27 rounds were fired by police.
