Bhopal: The ‘Project Implementation and Coordination Unit’ office of Bandh Suraksha Bhawan of Madhya Pradesh Water Sector Restructuring Project being run with World Bank assistance has been awarded ISO 9001-2000 Certificate.
At a function here yesterday, Water Resources Minister Anup Mishra handed over the prestigious certificate to project’s director PK Tiwari. Water Resources Department Principal Secretary Arvind Joshi was also present on the occasion. Congratulating the Project Director and his team, the Water Resources Minister urged them to keep up the momentum and quality of work in implementing the project. He said that other departments would also draw inspiration to work better from Water Sector Project’s office getting the ISO award.
Project Director Tiwari said that the project office could get the ISO certificate due to able guidance by Water Resources Minister and Principal Secretary apart from team spirit of his colleagues in the office. He praised assistant engineer Shubhankar Vishwas and Ms Seema Tripathi for putting up the documents in a very fine way before British Standard Institute, which gives the award after a thorough inspection.
ISO Certificate has been given to Madhya Pradesh Water Sector Restructuring Project Office for ensuring effective implementation of Quality Management System. The inspecting authority has given this certificate only after being satisfied with the process, inspection, documents and consumer satisfaction standards maintained by the office. The inspecting authority has given this award as all the standards set by it were met by the office.
The British Standards Institute, which is the inspecting authority, had asked the office to include social issues in the project. Underlining the social issues, BSI said the specialty of the project is that it has encompassed social development, environmental concerns and women’s empowerment. Therefore, the office has been given ISO Certificate on the strength of maintaining high quality management of standards. ([email protected])
