Hoshiarpur (Punjab) : A 26-year-old woman from New Delhi was Monday sentenced to 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment by a court in this Punjab town for drug dealing.
Special court judge J.S. Bhinder convicted Vania Khanna under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, saying she had been found in possession of two kg heroin in June last year.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs.100,000 on her.
Khanna was associated with drugs kingpin Raja Khandola who is already in Tihar jail in a case related to major drugs racket being operated in Punjab.
Hoshiarpur is 140 km from Chandigarh.
