New Delhi : N. Harikrishna, Telugu Desam Party member and son of former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N.T. Rama Rao, Thursday resigned from Rajya Sabha over creation of Telangana by bifurcating Andhra Pradesh.
Harikrishna, who had announced his resignation earlier this month, submitted it to Rajya Sabha Chairperson Hamid Ansari Thursday.
“Chairman has received a request from Nandamuri Harikrishna that he is resigning from his seat. His resignation has been accepted with effect from Aug 22,” said Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairperson P.J. Kurien.
TDP is protesting against the decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh.
