India need 493 runs more to win Melbourne Test

Melbourne : India were six for no loss in the second innings at stumps while chasing Australia’s target of 499 runs on the third day of first Test match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) here Friday.

Openers Rahul Dravid was on three and Wasim Jaffer on two at close of play. Australia declared their second innings at 351 for seven taking an overall lead of 498 runs.
