Palestinian prisoners urge world help them cope with hardships

Gaza : Palestinian prisoners held in Israel have called on the international community to intervene and co-erce the Tel Aviv authorities supply them with necessities to cope with biting cold threatening their lives.

The prisoners, in a statement distributed in Palestinian regions on Wednesday, said they were short on necessary sheets and winter clothes because Israeli prisoners’ authorities barred their families from visiting them.

They also urged the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Israeli Knesset to inform the higher Israeli court about their conditions to take action for ending their hardships.

Israel holds in 30 prisons and detention camps up to 11,000 Palestinian and Arab inmates.
