Kuala Lumpur : The head of the International Parliamentary Group for the implementation of the UN Anti-Corruption Convention, MP Dr. Nasser Al-Sane’a on Sunday called on Kuwait to introduce an anti-corruption strategy at all levels.
Al-Sane’a, who spoke on the phone to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), said the Kuwaiti MPs Against Corruption Organization have started to prepare the ground for this national strategy.
He said contacts were made with several non-government groups and academics to express their opinion on such a strategy.
Dr Al-Sane’a is taking part in the Second session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption, which was held on February 1 in the Indonesian island of Bali.
Dr. Al-Sane’a attended the session as head of the Kuwaiti chapter of the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
He submitted to participants in the session a study on anti-corruption, prepared by a European group and covering six countries from six different continents.
He praised the efforts made by the Kuwaiti group in the Bali conference.
