Hasnain and Rafaqat were held responsible for the murder of Benazir Bhutto by a team investigating her assassination, according to reports.

The authorities have already arrested a 15-year old suspect Aitzaz Shah, who was stated to be member of the back-up suicide bombers.

Interior Ministry spokesman Brig (retd) Javed Iqbal Cheema also confirmed the arrest of Hasnain and Rafaqat.

It is not clear when they were arrested and what was their role in the assassination of two times prime minister.

TV channels said that Hasnain and Rafaqat joined other two suspects Ikram and Bilal to attack Benazir Bhutto, after she addressed a big election rally in the city of Rawalpindi on December 27.

Investigators are questioning the two suspects at undisclosed location.

The arrests coincide with the arrival of three members of the Scotland Yard in Islamabad which had joined Pakistani investigators into the probe of Benazir Bhutto’s assassination.

Officials say that British detectives will hand over their inquiry report to the Pakistani counterparts on Friday.

The police had also arrested another suspect at a tip from Aitzaz Shah from Dera Ismail Khan in the country’s northwest.
