4.2 pc of Iranian population are disabled – official

Ilam : Some 4.2 percent of Iranian population are afflicted with a sort of disability, said an official here on Monday.

Deputy Head of the Rehabilitation Department at Iran’s Welfare Organization Abolqassem Najafi told IRNA here that the percentage accounts for about three million out of the country’s 70 million population.

Najafi said so far, one million such people have been identified by the IWO.
