Bhubaneswar : The southwest monsoon Thursday arrived in Orissa bringing rain to several coastal areas.
The monsoon clouds entered through Gopalpur, Balasore and Puri and advanced into the southern districts of Malkangiri, Koraput and northern district of Mayurbhanj, local meteorological office spokesman S.K. Das said.
Rain and thundershowers are likely in several places over the state in the next two days, he said. Some places could also experience heavy rain.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea as it would be rough.
