Speaker Raghubir Singh Kadian ordered the disqualification of the two legislators following hearings over the last few days.

The disqualified legislators are Rakesh Kamboj from Indri and Dharampal Malik from Gohana assembly constituencies.

Both the disqualified leaders are considered close to former chief minister and dissident leader Bhajan Lal. The former chief minister himself is also facing disqualification proceedings in the assembly.

Both legislators and Lal have been accused of joining the newly floated Haryana Janhit Congress (BL) at a rally in December last year.

Dissident Congress MP from Bhiwani and Lal’s son Kuldip Bishnoi had floated the party.

All three dissident legislators had sent their resignations from the assembly in January this year but with the condition that it be accepted with effect from June.

However, the Haryana speaker initiated disqualification proceedings against them, despite their conditional resignation.
