By IINA

Jakarta : Geert Widers’ anti-Islam film continues to ire the world’s Muslims as Indonesia joins the protests against the blasphemous motion picture. Thousands of students from an Indonesian Islamic school took to the streets yesterday in Magelang, in Central Java province, carrying posters demanding that authorities shut down websites streaming Wilders’ film, SCTV reported.
The 17-minute film “Fitna” accuses the Holy Quran of inciting violence and has provoked worldwide condemnation.

Indonesia’s Foreign Ministry described the unethical film as ‘racist’ and said it was made ‘under the blanket of freedom of expression’. Indonesia’s social affairs minister, Bachtiar Chamsyah, called on Islamic organizations in the country to protest against Wilders’ film, saying it shows contempt for the Muslim Faith, calling on all Muslims ‘to protest’, Antara news agency reported.
Another official warned that the film could damage Jakarta’s relations with the Netherlands urging the Dutch government to discipline Wilders.
