Moscow : Leader of governing United Russia, Boris Grizlov, ratified on Thursday the invitation issued for outgoing president Vladimir Putin and president-elect Dmitri Medvedev to join the party.
Grizlov announced this week the intention to elect Putin as leader of the main political force in Parliament during a congress scheduled for April 14.
This obvious preference for the outgoing head of State sparked an avalanche of comments and speculation even suggesting a shortening of Medvedev’s term attributed to eventual legal maneuvers by United Russia.
In this regard, Grizlov said his fellow party members are ready to welcome Putin and his dolphin, who will assume the presidency on May 7.
