New Delhi : Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) has demanded minority status for Jamia Millia Islamia and that the university should be exempted from OBC quota.
This cadre-based Muslim organisation with large following in the length and breadth of the country expressed its concern over the growing trend to blame Muslims and Muslim organisations for every act of violence and terrorism in the country.
According to the resolutions adopted by Central Advisory Council of JIH at the end of its sessions held recently, JIH expressed that the country is also blindly copying the anti-Islam and anti-Muslim war declared by US on the pretext of war on terror.
"Wherever any incident of terrorism occurs,
it is immediately attributed to Muslims. Showing irresponsibility, police and administration express their opinion in media without any substantial evidence.
Whether a mosque is attacked or a graveyard or a shrine or the national parliament, Muslims are blamed for every incident. Similarly, local Muslim organisations
are tied with militant organisations and no evidence is deemed necessary for this allegation," said a statement released here Thursday.
Expressing concern over the country’s rising rate of inflation, the organisation said, "It is resulting in more troubles for public."
JIH also demanded immediate end of Gaza siege,
provision for essential needs of Palestinians and restoration of Hamas government.
