Paris : The five main trade unions in France will march against government reforms on occasion of International Workers Day.
The leader of the General Workers Federation, Bernard Thibault also said that the call for a general strike on May 22 was made in refusal of a government measure.
Marches and rallies for May 1st will take place in between the emblematic Republic Squares and Paris Nation where they will make emphasis on the situation of workers without identification papers and decrease of French people’s purchasing power.
The Trade Unions said the country’s main cities will hold similar demonstrations.
“We will send a strong message to the government: It is not reasonable to ask the workers for more contribution and earn the same or less,” remarked Jean Claude Mailly on behalf of the Working Force.
The workers representative along with other friendship associations and solidarity groups will use the occasion to greet the revolutionary process in motion in Latin Americaand particularly the ALBA initiative.
